APCYA 마지막 날 저녁 ‘cultural night’을 즐기는 청년들
아시아·태평양 지역 17개국 기독 청년들이 모인 “인공지능(AI) 시대 속 평화와 기후 위기 해법”을 함께 모색하는 제2회 아시아태평양기독청년대회(APCYA)가 성공적으로 마무리되었습니다.
이번 대회에는 세계교회협의회(WCC), 세계기독학생총연맹 아시아태평양지역(WSCF-AP), 아시아태평양YMCA연맹(APAY), 대만기독교장로회, 대학YMCA전국연맹, 한국YWCA연합회, 한국기독교교회협의회 청년위원회, 한국기독학생회총연맹, 한국에클레시아생명학연구소 등 아시아·태평양 17개국 42개 조직에서 온 90여 명의 청년들이 참여했으며, 한국YWCA 청년참가자들도 함께 자리했습니다.
YWCA에서는 인도, 일본, 방글라데시, 필리핀, 홍콩 5개국 청년 10명이 함께 참석하여, 서로 교류하며 네트워크를 확장하는 시간도 가질 수 있었습니다.

그룹 워크숍 및 토론 이후 발표에 참여하고 있는 부천YWCA 청년들
19일부터 23일까지 경기도 파주 일대에서 진행된 대회는 살림채에서 열린 개막 예배로 시작해 주제 강연과 워크숍, 토론이 이어졌습니다. 윤이실 교수(연세대학교, 기독교윤리학)는 주제 강연에서 “진보를 넘어, 인공지능 시대의 기독교 윤리의 길”을 제시하며 청년들과 깊이 있는 대화를 나누었습니다.
또한 강화도 갯벌, DMZ, 주상절리, 한탄강세계지질공원센터 등을 방문하는 에코투어와 피스투어를 통해 참가자들은 한국의 자연과 분단 현실을 몸소 경험하며 생태와 평화의 가치를 성찰했습니다. 폭염경보 속에서도 모든 청년들이 만남과 나눔에 적극적으로 참여했고, 마지막 날에는 온라인 플랫폼을 통해 모은 의견과 질문들을 AI 분석 도구로 분류·정리하여 대회 선언문을 함께 작성했습니다.

신관우 이사장(한국YMCA전국연맹)은 “서로 다른 나라, 언어, 문화, 조직에서 왔지만, 우리는 ‘함께 어떤 미래를 살아가고 싶은가’라는 공통된 질문 앞에 서 있다”며, “기술보다 깊은 신앙으로, 속도보다 깊은 성찰로, AI 시대를 살아갈 새로운 신앙적 리터러시를 함께 세워가자”고 전했습니다.
이번 대회 주제는 “회심하여 정의로운 전환으로!”로, 개인적 차원을 넘어 공동체가 함께 회심하고 삶을 전환해 정의롭고 평화로운 공동체를 지향하자는 의미를 담고 있습니다.
4박 5일간의 대회 기간동안 참가자들이 온라인 플랫폼을 통해 공유한 의견과 질문을 AI 분석 도구로 분류·정리해 완성한 선언문을 아래 공유합니다.
《Asia-Pacific Christian Youth Assembly 2025 Declaration》
1. Problems We Face Today
As young people in the Asia-Pacific, we live in an age of overlapping crises. The climate crisis threatens our homes, food, and futures, displacing the most vulnerable. Militarization and conflict continue to steal lives, resources, and peace from our communities. In the era of digital transformation, many of us experience a deep digital divide, and artificial intelligence is misused for war, surveillance, misinformation, and exploitation, while its hidden carbon footprint worsens climate change. These challenges weigh heavily on our hearts, our families, and our societies.
2. Principles We Must Uphold
We affirm our calling to be peacemakers. We believe in climate justice that protects creation and ensures that no community bears unfair burdens. In the digital age, we uphold principles of justice, transparency, responsibility, human dignity, and fairness. We seek technology that serves humanity, not harms it; that builds trust, not fear. Rooted in faith, love, and solidarity, we commit to humility and stewardship—living sustainably, acting responsibly, and choosing dialogue over division.
3. Why Youth Must Act Together and Our Commitment
We, the youth of the Asia-Pacific, commit to act in unity across borders, faiths, and cultures. Inspired by our prayers for peace, our grief over suffering, and our hope for renewal, we pledge to be chain- breakers, peacemakers, caretakers of creation, and ethical leaders in the digital future. Together we will resist despair and live out hope, ensuring that future generations inherit love, faith, hope and solidarity that will allow them to live life in fullness regardless of the momentous challenges that lie before us.

Russia
We are going to do an eco-checklist for our local camps so they could be more eco-friendly, also we are going to create ecological games for our camp participants which will teach them how can they care more about the environment.
Indonesian
Taking the lead to communicate, inform, and coordinate youth organizations in Indonesia, government related institutions, and NGOs to carry out social movements that advocate and conduct scientific research on climate and justice conditions in Indonesia such as issues of forest land exploitation, tolerance, and other related challenges.
Philippines
AI literacy to implement a structured training to understand and inform the benefits of Artificial Intelligence while addressing associated risks and challenges and environmental footprints .
Japan
The YWCA and YMCA in Japan will co-host a lecture on “Environment and Peace in Japan.”
Thailand
In Thailand, we will continue to help to preserve our ecology by continuing to do and more commit to our Chiang Mai YMCA and World YMCA 2030 vision on climate change and sustainable planet. We will become green Ambassador and educate ourselves so that we can share the correct information to our friends and family, inner circle first then we can expand to others.
Hong Kong
We declare to carry out workshops on fostering a safe, ethical and informed use of AI in to all generations in Hong Kong.
India
We will launch our ‘Carry your bottle,Beat the waste’ campaign at various events organized by our 100 associations across the country.
Korea
Practice one new climate action each month, build habits, and separate waste properly.
Bangladesh
Be self aware. Workshops on safe AI usage, how climate change is connected to using AI in schools , college, communities. Social awareness building
China: Training models consumes a significant amount of electricity, and I hope to find a balance between generating high-quality AI models and minimising energy consumption. Enabling everyone to enjoy the convenience of high-quality AI in their daily lives.
Sri Lanka
I will plan for a beach clean up workshop together with Sri Lankan SCM’ers.
Cambodia
Promote AI & Peace by organizing workshops on the positive and negative impacts of AI, creating awareness videos about AI to prevent fake news, and using AI to generate positive quotes and phrases
New Zealand
We will write to our political leaders to raise the issue of autonomous weapons.
《2025 아시아·태평양 기독청년대회 선언문》
1. 우리가 직면한 문제들
아시아·태평양의 청년으로서 우리는 위기가 겹쳐 있는 시대에 살고 있습니다. 기후 위기는 우리의 집과 먹을거리, 미래를 위협하며 가장 취약한 이들을 삶의 터전에서 내몰고 있습니다. 군비 확장과 갈등은 여전히 우리의 공동체로부터 생명과 자원, 평화를 빼앗고 있습니다. 디지털 전환의 시대 속에서 많은 이들이 심각한 디지털 격차를 경험하고 있으며, 인공지능은 전쟁, 감시, 허위정보, 착취에 오용되고 있을 뿐 아니라 그 숨겨진 탄소 발자국으로 기후위기를 더욱 악화시키고 있습니다. 이러한 도전들은 우리의 마음과 가정, 그리고 사회에 깊은 무게로 다가옵니다.
2. 우리가 지켜야 할 원칙들
우리는 평화를 이루는 자로 부름받았음을 고백합니다. 창조세계를 지키고 어떤 공동체도 불공정한 짐을 지지 않도록 하는 기후 정의를 믿습니다. 디지털 시대 속에서 우리는 정의, 투명성, 책임, 인간 존엄성, 공정의 원칙을 지켜야 합니다. 인류를 해치는 기술이 아니라 섬기는 기술, 두려움이 아니라 신뢰를 세우는 기술을 추구합니다. 우리는 신앙과 사랑, 연대에 뿌리를 두고 겸손과 청지기 정신으로 살아가며, 지속가능하게 살고 책임 있게 행동하며, 분열보다 대화를 선택할 것을 다짐합니다.
3. 청년이 함께 행동해야 하는 이유와 우리의 다짐
우리, 아시아·태평양의 청년들은 국경과 신앙, 문화를 넘어 연대하여 행동할 것을 약속합니다. 평화를 위한 기도, 고통에 대한 슬픔, 새로움에 대한 희망에 힘입어 우리는 사슬을 끊는 자, 평화를 만드는 자, 창조세계를 돌보는 자, 디지털 미래의 윤리적 리더가 될 것을 서약합니다. 우리는 절망을 거부하고 희망을 살아내며, 미래 세대가 사랑, 신앙, 희망, 연대를 물려받아 다가올 거대한 도전에도 불구하고 충만한 삶을 살아가도록 할 것입니다.

지역 캠프에서 더 친환경적으로 운영할 수 있도록 에코 체크리스트를 만들고, 참가자들에게 환경 보호를 가르칠 수 있는 생태 게임을 제작할 것입니다.
인도네시아
청년 단체, 정부 관련 기관, NGO들과 소통하고 협력하여 산림 착취, 관용, 정의 관련 문제 등 인도네시아의 기후·정의 현안에 대해 사회운동과 과학적 연구를 주도할 것입니다.
필리핀
인공지능(AI)의 장점과 함께 관련 위험과 환경적 영향을 이해하고 알릴 수 있도록 체계적인 AI 리터러시 교육을 시행할 것입니다.
일본
