Cha, Kyung Ai was elected President of National YWCA of Korea on 2011 National Council. Cha has started to work as coordinator in communication department at the National YWCA of Korea in 1967.
She devoted herself to vocational training program for women and care services. Over 45 years, Cha has worked for Women’s rights and well-fare, especially women who has insufficient job opportunity and training. After her retirement as staff, she continued to involve with National YWCA of Korea as volunteer. She did her volunteer’s duties as National vice president and the head of Social Issue & Advocacy Committee.
Cha has a strong and open-minded leadership qualities and with her warm and determined leadership, YWCA of Korea will continue 2012-2013 Strategic plan in 5 areas; Justice with Care, Peace with Share, Promoting Young Women’s Leadership, Strengthening Accountability and Management for YWCAs and Securing Financial Integrity. For 2 years, YWCA of Korea would focus to build a Justice & Peace community with Caring & Sharing through YWCA of Korea’s movement; Socialization of Care Service Workers’ Rights, Development of Young Women’s Alternative Talent and Support for North Korean Women and Children.
